Bald Eagles and WWII Planes

We had an interesting morning on the golf course.  Aside from the wheels falling off the bus, then it blowing up, then someone backing up and you whating on it in regards to our golf games, we watched two WWII planes fly dead straight at each other, then turn together and fly off side-by-side.  All this happened directly overhead, while I was trying to hit a tee shot (that ended up in the water, then i went to drop a ball next to the water for my next shot and it rolled in the water before i could stop it...not smart little one, not smart.)

Then while walking to 18 tee, I spotted two bald eagles flying over us.  We were able to stop and watch them fly together directly over us - really cool.  This is my sorry excuse for a picture, but it was the best I did.  One is center, very bottom of the picture and the other is on the left side, more towards the middle of the picture.  Those two little black dots.  Zoom in and you can tell they are bald eagles.

No Power = No Football

During the middle of Tech's roller coaster of the game in a fashion that only GT can pull off - our power went out.  We had just come back from 0 and gone up on Miami 20 - 19, and pop - power gone.  Andrew was a slightly upset at the situation.  He decided it was time to see use the "f-word" before the last word in every sentence.  Sometimes - it was used three or four times in a sentence.  I was laughing my tail off - it was hilarious.

However, my favorite line was something that only an engineer from Georgia Tech would say - "I want to know who is going to pay the extra cost of having to cool my "fing" house back down after the "fing" power has been off for two "fing" hours.  Anyone that knows anything about "fing" thermodynamics knows that it is going to cost more to "fing" cool it off than it would to "fing" maintain it."

To say I lost my ability to not laugh in his face is an understatement.  I mean really, we are tossing thermo around now.  The fact that some times an accident happens and someone hits a power poll, or an animal gets fried on the line, or it just blows a transformer, was totally lost on him.  The only thing that mattered was that he couldn't watch football and it was going to cost more money to cool the house back down.  But Thermo, really??

In case you were wondering, we drove to Bop's while finding the game on xm in the car, then to bass pro, then drove out to the country and back in to town while listening to the game.  I'm glad no one was subjected to our rants when Tech melted down again.  It was pretty terrible.

Minor Trimming

Andrew and I did some minor trimming last night.  We went from this...
To this...
Why such a serious attack?  Those dang wax myrtles are like kudzu - they grow like crazy and they have all but taken over.  So we attacked.  Don't worry - they will fill back in and if not, we will pull them up and plant something that doesn't grow to 20 plus feet.

Beach and Boarding

We went to the beach with my family for Labor Day weekend.  Mom and Dad drove down, MB & John returned from a Hurricane Isaac sponsored trip to Atlanta, and Hugh drove over...we all met at Santa Rosa Beach outside of Destin.  It was a perfect weekend at the beach.  Our only plan was to spend time on the beach and to eat dinner out...and that is exactly what we did.

Uncle Andrew will you please you take me in the ocean??
 Having a blast!!
My family at the beach - we take as much shade as possible.

While we were at the beach, we boarded Tucker for the first time.  He actually really did well and was spotted by his dad smiling and happy before he spotted his dad.  So we know that he really didn't mind too much.  FYI _ he was in his own room, away from everyone else, and had his bed with him...he was fine.  However, at his first night back home, he demanded to get on the sofa or he wasn't going to let me watch TV - so I caved...I mean seriously - this dog isn't right.
But when I left the room and returned - I found this - I mean really - it wasn't that bad was it???
