Oh Happy Day...

My GEORGIA peaches from Dickey Farms in Musella (that's between Macon and Thomaston, kids) just arrived!!

I have been craving peaches the entire summer and could not wait for the "freestone" varieties to come in. Once they did and I got word from my peach informant (Ralph Nix - former boss), I order 26 of those bad boys.

I knew they were supposed to arrive today so I ran home at lunch and found the box waiting on me. Of course, I couldn't wait to eat on so I brought one back to the office and cut into it as soon as I got back. And I did a serious, crazy dance when that sweet, yet tangy, firm, yet soft peach hit my taste buds!! Then I had a trail of folks following me down the hall when they got a sniff of it. I shared only one slice with Kim and now she understands why I would be willing to pay to ship peaches out here!!

So if you can't get your hands on some Georgia peaches, here is the link...http://www.gapeaches.com/peachesGifts.htm

Whose Kid is He??

Okay so for anyone that only thought my sister was up-tight, super organized, high stress, clean freak, you don't really know her.
But if you happen to know the MB that does a mean Elvis and has been known to try on a bikini over her jeans while standing the hall of my freshman dorm - well you know her...

So the whole point is that the up-tight, super organized, high stress, clean freak side of her deserves what she created with Hugh because the little trouble maker is a perfect mix of them...the good, the bad, and the button pusher...

Direct quote from her Blog: "Sometimes i just don't get it. Demanding to wear daddy's hat and brush teeth. The fun stopped once he stuck the toothbrush in his ear. Not bright, little one."

Another quote from her Blog: "You'll just have to trust me when I tell you that he begged to put on the glasses. First he wanted to wear Mr. Potatohead's glasses, but they wouldn't fit on his head. Then he moved on to my glasses and began to strut what his momma gave him. He is all boy, which includes not being afraid of the Vera Wang sunglasses."

Friday, the 13th...

Nope not the movie - the day Andrew (finally) proposed!! Today marks 3 years from the day I walked into Andrew's apartment in Macon to find a dozen yellow roses (my favorite) and a note that sent me on a wild goose hunt.

First stop was at the kitchen table, second stop was at the kitchen counter, third stop wasn't part of Andrew's plan but it was at the bathroom which was locked with the fan on as a means of tricking me...it worked, I figured he was in there so I beat on the door and yelled at him, fourth stop was in the bedroom where I found a ring box but not "the ring box" this was a fake with another note, fifth stop was back at the bathroom to yell some more, sixth stop was in the living room where he came out of hiding and met me in his suit with tears in his eyes. For those of you wondering...he was hiding in the laundry room and crawled out while I was in the bedroom and beating on the bathroom door.

I can't remember exactly what he said, but I do know that it he said something about wanting me to accept all his med school debt - just kidding - he wanted me to be his wife and the mother of his children. Of course I said, "Yes and would you please stand up!" Then I asked, "What does the ring look like? I am crying to hard to see it. And did you wait until you knew I wasn't packing "Church Clothes" anymore, just in case?" He just laughed, told me that the ring was exactly what I wanted (he was right) and said, "No, I waited until you stopped pestering me daily about it."

It was a wonderful day and a day neither of us will forget - especially since I still have each of the handwritten notes that he used to send me on this crazy adventure. If I had the camera I would load other pictures from that day, but I don't have it now, so I will add some more later. But do note that the clothes that I am wearing were the nicest thing I had with me...go figure.

The best part of this whole story actually happened on the Wednesday before he proposed. He was staying with Jimbo helping out on the farm. I went up to visit for the afternoon and was quizzed no less than 10 times about being superstitious in regards to Friday, the 13th. I sounded like a broken record by the end of the day - I said over and over again - "nope not at all. I am not a crazy baseball player like you." Poor Jimbo, he was about to fall out laughing and I think started to get worried that Andrew was going to blow the whole thing with the repeated question. I was too slow to catch on and Jimbo never blew the cover either!

Oh and lastly - we are still working on perfecting the "wife" thing - once we get it down we will worry about the "mother" part so it will be a while!
