Why I Live in Mississippi?

Because Andrew selected UMC for its outstanding test results and the awesome people. But that isn't really the topic of discussion.

It is a book that was dropped off on my desk Monday. It is called "Why I Live in Mississippi - 101 Dang Good Reasons."

Are you ready for this...

#2, #19, #47, & #73 - Elvis

#32 - Side orders of bacon break Guinness records for size and weight.

#26 - Second helpings are encouraged

#80 - More church suppers per capita than any other state.

#23 - Tomato Sandwiches

#24 - Banana sandwiches

#62 - Best corn bread on earth

#72 - Moon pies

Has any one figured out a trend here yet??

#87 - Coconut Cake

#88 - Red Velvet Cake

#89 - Gumbo

I think you get the picture now - then it takes on things like this:

#97 - Christmas decorating is easier when you live in a trailer

#91 - We pray the Yankees don't move South

#66 - Dually-friendly parking spaces

#5 - There's a profit to be made from New Yorkers who think we're quaint.

#64 - Suits are strictly church wear

#65 - Overalls are business casual

#61 - People are so friendly they actually frighten many Yankees.

Okay so you got the picture - these people love their Elvis, they love their food, and well they are just laid back, relaxed, some might even say fat and happy, and well Yankees are only welcomed if they are going to spend some serious cash at oh say a river-boat casino.

I don't see a thing wrong with any of it - Gotta love this place!

John's Birthday

My take on John's birthday party -

"Good morning, CC. Even though I can't say CC I still love you!"
"Aunt Gray Gray, I hate this stupid hat..."
"Papa John looks pretty good in it, so I am going to let him wear it while I open my gifts. Okay? Cool - Aunt Gray Gray, you are the best!"
"Hey, CC, how 'bout hurry up and open the next one? I really need to figure out what it is."

"Oh and a tractor book!"
"Oh and look at my hat - Thanks, Uncle Andrew (or Houn-Duck), I love this huntin and fishin hat!"
"Alright Mac-Daddy, here is my loot - I got a bowling set, a tractor book, a train set, and this awesome hat that I am wearing backwards (Sorry, Uncle Andrew, blame CC for that)."
"Did y'all know that I can ready already?"

"Oh and I got this toy that I can push or ride from Aunt Gray Gray and Uncle Andrew. See I can push it and make tractor sounds at the same time."
"Oh yeah, and I like to push it from the wrong side from time to time...Thanks, Mac-Daddy, but I think I can handle it from here..."
"This is my favorite toy! I call it a Tacta, but Mom thinks I should say Tractor...but who needs r's?"
"Everyone say it together, Tractor! Yep, I had the coolest tractor, banana cake for my birthday!"
"I don't know why y'all are singing to me, but while I have y'all singing I am going in for the kill..."
"Mom, are you sure I can just stick my hand in this? Mac-Daddy is watching and you know he doesn't like for me to get food on my hands."

"Hi Mac, this stuff is awesome, but you can't have any of mine since you were making fun of my crooked, Chiclets looking front teeth - take that, dude!"

"Mac, Oh Mac, Come here so I can give you hug! What you don't want green hands touching you? I don't understand Mac - come here...it will be fun!"

There you have it folks - John loved his gifts and his cake!

Weekend of Golf

Andrew and I spent most of the weekend doing something related to golf...either watching the Masters or hitting at the range and playing. It was such a pretty weekend and not to mention warm (to some hot), we just had to take advantage of Andrew's time off and the weather.
We won't discuss our score, but at least we were outside getting some exercise.

I got bored while waiting on the awful group ahead of us and started taking pictures with my phone. Andrew was thinking hard about not hitting his tee shot into the knee high grass off the left...and didn't realize I was taking his picture...Then he spotted me and told me to focus on my game...hahahaha, funny, dude, like I would ever focus on hitting a little ball with a stick...Oh and Andrew hates and I mean hates to have his picture taken. Yep, Andrew was thrilled. Can't you tell? He even walked to the back of the tee box and acted like I wasn't even around...good try, Drew...it doesn't work with me.
Just our adventures on the golf course...
and in case you were wondering...Andrew's ball went left into the thick, knee-high grass and mine went to the right near some cedar trees that protect the innocent cars passing by on the road...yep, we played like dog-crap yesterday, but at least we didn't hit 5 shots of each tee like the group ahead of us...

Pure Bliss...Cinnamon Rolls

Okay so are you ready for a little slice of pure bliss...

Now this picture isn't the best, heck I took it with my phone at the office before the work of art disappeared, but you get the idea...yummy, fresh, homemade cinnamon rolls! And they are very easy to make! These suckers melt in your mouth and disappear in a hurry. If you are feeling as adventurous as I was on Tuesday night, click here for the recipe...make only half unless you want 7 pans of cinnamon rolls sitting around your house!

Oh and did I mention that I love any and all Pioneer Woman recipes, I have yet to find one I didn't like.
