Picture Overload

My phone is about to die and I haven't been able to get pictures off it lately to post to the blog.  It was having a good day today so I took advantage of the situation and downloaded a bunch.  Sorry.

It seems that he was NOT ready to get up yet.  Or maybe he is just taking a page from Tucker's play book.

Holding a football while watching Andrew mount a new scope.  Sounds like a boy to me.  Oh and yes - please notice the spiked hair.  It is out of control.
I just love these sweet moments.  Even if it is with his lion that he had just finished wrestling.

Y'all - Joel did not like green beans...at all.  He did this with every.single.bite.  Hilarious.

And finally, this big dude is still getting his attention.  No worries.

My Little Wrestler

And it has begun...

I walk in day care last week and all the workers are trying to keep a straight face.  I, then, notice that Joel is in what we call "baby jail."  It is a section of the room that is separated off by gates so that the older babies that are crawling and toddling can roam without bothering the little babies on the main play mat.  They also use it as an area to place the older babies when they are "getting into everything" during pick up and drop off.  So there is my sweet baby in jail.

I, of course, have to ask at that point what did Joel do to get in trouble.  My question was met with a room full of laughter.  It seems that Joel decided that it was time to wrestle...the biggest baby in the class.  They were both on the play mat and Mr. Can't Crawl Yet managed to move about a foot, tackle the kid sitting beside him, knock him over, pin him down, and proceeded to wrap his arms and legs around the kid.  Poor thing, the workers said the other baby started screaming while Joel was giggling.

I'm betting it looked something like this...

So the entire time I am getting this story, between out burst of laughter, Joel is looking up at me with the most innocent, yet guilty, smile.

I think we have trouble on our hands.

6 Months

How in the world have we already hit 6 months??  Whoa, time.  Slow down.  This momma can't take it all in.

Anyway - what's been going on?  Well, we took another trip to Georgia for Labor Day.  The boys did great again.  Even though I wanted...needed...a beer by the time we got to the Georgia line.  We managed to hit the traffic created by all the football games in Atlanta, the NASCAR race, and whatever else was going on that weekend.  But the worst was being in bumper to bumper traffic on the interstate with all the Bama sorority girls.  And this is coming from a sorority girl.  It was a nightmare.  However, the rest of the trip was fantastic.

When we got to Madison, Mom had beer waiting on us.  She called to make sure she was getting exactly what we wanted.  But there was only one problem.
She said she thought the Bud Light looked a little different, but just thought that the Sweetwater was in a big bottle.  I think she was trying to tell me something.  Fact of the matter is - no matter the size of the bottle - it still drinks just as well.

I am happy to report that I can still water ski - slalom in fact.  Andrew and Uncle Ray both skied as well.  Mom and Dad tried but both suffered injuries during their first effort out of the water.  We did manage to get Mom on the tube with Nancy.  Hilarious.  Then the talked me into riding the tube with Andrew.  Not fun.  I skipped across the water once and rolled under the tube once...he never fell off.  Joel went for a boat ride and most have loved it because he slept the entire ride.

In the world of Joel, he is rolling every way possible. He has figured out this whole sitting up deal and is starting to figure out how to get on all fours.  Yes, we will be baby proofing our house in the very near future.  Yes, I will be logging a few extra miles chasing him very soon.  He has also started pulling up on us.  He needs a little help but gets the concept and is doing very well with it.  He is working on saying Daddy, Momma, and loves it when we mock him.  He weighed 19lb 6oz and was 27 inches at his 6 month appointment.

I finally had professional pictures taken of him in his baptism gown.  It just so happened to be 6 months and 3 days, so the casual pictures will serve as his 6 month pictures too.

Enjoy!
