And We're Back

We have returned home from a whirlwind trip to Georgia that included visits with both sides of the family!

Wednesday at noon we hit I-20, eastbound and down, loaded up and truckin'...sorry I can't help myself when it comes to Smoky and the Bandit. We arrived (with Tucker and all his toots) at Great Waters (Lake Oconee, Eatonton, GA) at 7:30pm. Our greeting committee was composed of Mom, then MB, then John, then Dad, Hugh and Tico. John saw me first and started saying Gray-Gray (more like Day-Day), then saw Tucker and started yelling...Tucktie, Tucktie. It was too cute. We spent lots of wonderful time with the family in a great house with a view of both of the course and the lake. Time was spent walking Tucker, chasing John, taking John to the pool, correcting him when he called golf carts lawn mowers, and skiing.

Friday mid-morning, we packed up and headed to Macon. I made a surprise (to some) visit to the old office for Laura Mathis' important, but yearless birthday, while Andrew played golf with his dad. We then rejoined at his parents house for dinner and relaxing and drinking beer on the patio with Steven and the parents. Then Saturday we prepared to Papa Ouzts' 80th Birthday Party. Brandy came into town and watched Tech stink it up with her brothers. Donnie and Erin and the girls also made it down for the party. A good time was had by all in attendance and Papa Ouzts was shocked he had so many friends. Then Sunday morning about 8am EST Andrew and I loaded up a sleepy Tucker-man and hit the road to Jackson. Tucker slept from 285 South of Atlanta to west of Meridian. Therefore, we did not stop the entire trip - he is like a sleeping baby, you don't wake the monster. So we got home at 1pm CST - that's six hours, it can be done. After getting his lazy butt out of the car and unloading our cooler of left over BBQ, we had lunch, Tucker had lunch and was told to stay outside, I clean the house, then we took a nap until 4pm CST. We unloaded the car, got some dinner, got Tucker a new bone, and called it a night.

What a weekend, but it was wonderful! Thanks to all the family for organizing and planning so we could spend Andrew's time-off with all of you.
