It's You're or You Are Welcome...

I am on a roll this week, ha!

It is..."you are welcome" or "you're welcome" NOT "you welcome."

This one really gets me.  It bothers me so much that when someone says, "you welcome" to seems as though they are screaming it.  I have found that I stop saying "thank you" to wait staff that respond with "you welcome" the first time because I'm not sure I won't try to correct them later in the meal.  I realize that we are a fairly lazy society and we don't (see...right there, opted to save one key stroke, it would have been a space, the ' serves to hold the place of the missing o) speak with great clarity at all times, but come on...say the whole phrase.

However, I love, love, love to offer thanks at Chick-fil-a because I know I will hear, "It's my pleasure" or even "my pleasure" rather than "you welcome."
