If You Can't Park It...

I have said this a million times, but I am going to share it again...if you can't park it, don't drive it!!

Before a person should be allowed to drive a vehicle, they must be able to park it.  Not parallel park, just park in a normal straight spot.  And driving a large vehicle is not an excuse to park over the line...sorry...try again.  It really isn't that hard.  If you have a bus-size turning radius, swing wide and back up to make sure  you are within the lines.  If you have drive a tank (and it does not fit within one parking spot), be kind and park at the end of the lot.

If you haven't noticed, it is much easier to get out of the parking spot when you park in the middle of it, too.  If you find you have trouble getting out of a parking spot, check, you will likely find someone is parked too close to the line.

And one more - don't assume you have the right of way because your vehicle is bigger or nicer.  Right of way is not based on size of vehicle or brand name.  If you don't know how to determine right of way, you should not be driving.

Yes, when I am driving Dad's truck (Andrew's doesn't count - it is a mid-size and in my world they aren't big), I manage to park it within the lines.   And I don't have the "experience" of driving it on a daily basis.

I may or may not still have trouble parking. I may or may not have always had issues since I learned how to drive. But believe me, I make sure to park away from other cars because I hate not being able to get Lyla in or out of the car....apparently it is illegal to leave her in the car if I can't get her out, and people might think I am crazy if I have to do one of those crawling over the seat deals to get her/myself back in. So, I promise I will not be your problem :) I found this blog so funny and so enjoy reading your posts. Adam and I went to Longhorn for dinner the other night and I told him about your post from Longhorn a few weeks ago. Miss you!! And PS, you are officially the next/last out of our GT group to get pregnant!!

HA! Katherine, I miss you! Thank you for not leaving Lyla in the car. So based on your PS comment does this mean that someone whose last name starts with W has news or is it just the W family and Ouzts left?

You are correct I figuring out the "W" family is expecting...I am guessing it is public knowledge since I know (and I am always the last to know things) and I believe she is almost done/done with her first trimester....I believe they are due September 9th (ish)

So who is the W family??

Wilson's...not Wood's. Hope you didn't think it was them.
