We went to the vet on Saturday...it wasn't nearly as eventful as going to the vet with Hamilton was, but Tucker still made it will know that he had arrived.
For those of you that didn't know Hamilton - he was the Great Dane that my parents bought for MB and I when we were in HS. He stood 6ft on his back legs and typically maintained a solid 200 pounds. Hamilton is the reason that the vet installed a "swinging" door at their office...he would get so excited to go into the building that he would take off into the door as soon as you opened it whether there was room for you or not. Then once inside, he would place his front paws on the counter, stand on his back legs and basically sign himself in. The vet techs loved him and he loved them.
Now back to Tucker - he didn't jump on the counter but he do go loving on all the vet techs. The vet said he looks great and is gaining weight as he should. On Saturday, he tipped the scales at 59.5 pounds at 5 months and a day. He is exchanging baby teeth for real teeth as he should and does have a problem with getting sunburned on his belly - kinda like his daddy - oh sorry, Andrew, did I say that??. The vet suggested keeping him inside during the heat of the day - yes he is a happy kid now. But the biggest news - his male parts are in and functioning as he demonstrated with his bed - the vet said whenever we are ready, he is ready for some cutting...so Tucker will become a she-man some time in the next couple of weeks. Sorry - boys but I can't handle a humping dog...
