Welcome, Joel Watson!

Andrew and I welcomed Joel Watson to the world last Thursday.  He was a big, ol' boy for this momma - he joined us at 8 lbs 11 ozs and 21 inches.

Joel has been a dear blessing to us and we are so thrilled to be momma and daddy to someone other than Tucker.

Funny story - I remember the nurses telling Andrew to put these scrubs on when it was decided that I would be having a c-section.  They said to go ahead and get started so he would be ready when they took me back.  Little did those nurses know- Andrew has experience in "scrubbing up."  He was ready in 30 seconds...they asked - are you a doctor - hahaha!
Joel wore the cap that his CiCi knitted for him home from the hospital.  She has made one for each of her grandchildren and all three love them.
Joel and CiCi.  Mac was there but I don't have any pictures with him because he hasn't sent them to me.

After flying home from Aruba and driving through the night and having their starter go out at the rest stop on the interstate - Andrew's parents finally made it to the hospital on Saturday morning.  They were just a little sleepy.

Tucker has been wonderful!  He loves his little brother and is very protective.
This is a very common position for the little speedster.  He loves waving his arms.
Unfortunately, we had the "treat" of using a bilirubin light blanket for 48 hours.  You better believe we kept Joel on it around the clock - I even figured out how to change is diaper without taking him off the light - so we could have some freedom away from a machine and, of course, to get the bilirubin out of him ASAP.  We were successful and Joel is a free man!
