First, let me just say that I am thrilled that Spring is almost here. It is approaching 80 today and all the trees started to blossom overnight!
Now back to hunting in Mississippi - I have learned that it is possible to go deer hunting in Mississippi without a gun and during non-season times. In fact, it is pretty dang popular. So how is it done? Easy, just drive a truck! Yep, as soon as someone hits a deer around here, the truck (car sometimes) behind the "damaged" car, pulls up, throws the deer in the bed and just like that you have dinner! It is true. People even call their friends/family to get them to come help pick it up. But here is the catch...you have to be the first person on the scene. You can't waste time going to get a truck, and in most cases, the person that hits the deer can't even react quick enough to land the goods! Now you are thinking, yeah sure, only the rednecks would do that...oh no...everyone does it. We were laughing about it this morning in the office. All the hunters have a "grabbing the road kill story."
I just love this place - I am in the largest city in the State and it is as country as Bostwick!
