It started snowing about 8:30 last night and hasn't stopped yet. As predicted, the really heavy stuff didn't start until about 3am. Anyway, we have had a solid 15 hours of snow. They are reporting snow amounts between 4 and 6 inches. It has already started to melt slightly in some areas, but more is coming, so it is going to be difficult to get a "final" measurement. Stupid me, I didn't have much at all in the way of food at the house, so I visited Kroger this morning since our office is closed. Much to my delight they had already restocked everything but meats!! I now have a pot of chili in the crock pot and other yummy snow day type food (aka hot chocolate)! Poor Andrew, he is on call tonight at the VA so he left the house about 5:30am this morning and will not be back until after lunch tomorrow. I am trying to take pictures so he can enjoy the snow too. I just hope that the vets stay away from the hospital so he can get some sleep tonight!
I must say to all the parents out there...I have learned one thing about snow days when you are an adult...they are not nearly as fun as when you are a kid...you have to worry if there is enough food at the house, what will you do if the power goes out, how are you going to entertain the kids (in this case, me since the tv stopped working for several hours this morning), etc...thanks Mom and Dad for putting up with us on snow days!
and let me just say that we could have had a ton of fun at Tech if we ever had a snow day there...just think, dining halls for food, lots of snow ball fights and snowmen to be made...man that would have been fun...go figure, Ma Tech wouldn't let us have any fun...

It's coming down now in Georgia. Hope we get a couple of inches so I can play in it...then it can go away.
