How I Hurt My Foot

Watch this to find out...(no this was not the night of the actual injury but this is what I was doing when I hurt it).

One Happy Boy...

Since Tucker's self-inflicted wound 12 days ago, he hasn't been allowed outside for any length of time.   And when he does go he has to wear a zip-loc on his foot.  So because it is beautiful outside and warm, and because I was trying to get a ton of food cooked and an even larger pile of laundry folded, and because his foot is better - I sent him out!

Dinner Date

Andrew and I thoroughly enjoyed a nice, long dinner at one of our favorite Jackson restaurants - Julep - last night.  Thanks to a gift certificate from his folks as part of our Christmas, we got every single thing we wanted...and it was wonderful!

I started with a Wedding Cake Martini - yes it smelled and tasted like wedding cake!
We shared Shrimp Toast - think butter, cheese, herbs, shrimp on a think slice of wheat bread...toasted...
For main course I had their world famous Fried Chicken (perfect blend of savory in the breading with a honey rosemary glaze) and Andrew had the Filet - which of course was fork tender and Ah-mazing...
Then to finish things off, Andrew had Banana Fosters Bread Pudding with the all important rum sauce and ice cream and I had Derby Pie with Chocolate and Bourbon Sauce and hearty scoop of ice cream!!

Needless to say - it was wonderful!  Mrs. Susan (Mom) - Mr. Charlie (Dad) - thanks a million!!!  But Tucker said we are in trouble because we didn't bring home any leftovers for him!

Sorry - no pictures of the food we had...but see the burlap checker board pattern - I am going to do that in my house one day - on a smaller scale but still it will happen

Go AWAY Rain!

I understand the importance of rain, please don't get me wrong, but we have gotten so much rain lately it is over-kill.  The yard feels like walking in soaking wet carpet...it is gross.

So anyway - I knew Sister has been getting a lot of this rain too so I called her at lunch to see if they dropped anchors yet.  She said, "No it isn't raining here.  Just lots of wind, which is finally drying up the back yard."  Then two hours later I get a text message from her.."Spoke too soon.  I got paddles out.  John has on swimmies."  I responded, "We dropped anchors and put a snorkel on Tuck." 

No joke folks - I am glad Tucker is taller than Tico - some how I think Tico would really need an anchor, swimmies, and a snorkel to go out.

Guess it is the 3.32 inches of rain since January 16th...and we have more on the way.

Couple of Things...

1) This weather is amazing - I love each season, but this taste of spring makes me want it now!
2) We are grilling this weekend because of #1
3) Tucker chewed his bandage off today between lunch and when we got home.  Knock on wood - he hasn't hit it on anything to make it bleed...
4) We have to go to the vet again tomorrow...trip #3 in 4 days...
5) Tucker loves watching TV but gets mad when he can't find the dogs on it or behind it...
6) Tiger Woods just hit a bunker shot that looked more like me...i love it when the pros make me feel better about my game.
7) Tucker is sitting in Andrew's lap...licking his "balding hair"
8) They had a burping contest last night...send help fast...
9) We went to Grant's Kitchen...a new meat and three buffet spot...good prices, good food...not a bad option
10) Tucker has learned that to go outside he has to wear a zip-loc with rubberbands...
11) I have eaten three cupcakes in 4 days...send help fast...
12)  I am already looking for gifts for John's Birthday in March...can't help it - I love buying for that kiddo
13) John has plumbers crack when he is wearing a pull-up with his jeans...I took a picture of it with his mom's camera but she hasn't sent it to me yet...CC was my partner in crime in getting him to bend over so i could get the picture
14) Pioneer Woman's book comes out next week - I pre-ordered one...it arrives next weekend...I will be reading it non-stop next weekend...
15) Found out a Five-Guys is opening just down the street = t-r-o-u-b-l-e for my health, oh and it is next door to the cupcake shop...

One More Thing...

I just need to let the world know that our dog does not pout all the time...he really does live a very happy life - just not in recent pictures...I'll try to get some non-pout face pictures soon so you will believe me.
